Marketing and Communications Officer

We are looking for a part-time Marketing and Communications Officer who will strengthen our reputation amongst various audiences. We are looking for someone who is eager to spend their days learning and writing about all different kinds of sustainability research, turning complex information into compelling marketing copy and assets for a variety of audiences.

You’ll work closely with academics to understand their communications needs and recommend marketing activity that helps them meet their goals. Working with the wider Corporate Communications department and marketing colleagues from across the University you will identify opportunities to raise awareness of the University for reputational gain, and design campaigns to maximise these opportunities.

Bid Writer & Project Manager

The post holder will be responsible for building partnerships to develop and deliver externally funded projects. You will be familiar with the academic research environment. This role requires excellent communication and project management skills, with a proven track record of collaborating effectively across multiple stakeholders.

The successful applicant will join our interdisciplinary team. Educated to an honours degree (or similar experience) you will engage in writing bids with academic researchers and external stakeholders to fill the Grantham Centre pipeline of research projects and provide project management to them once successful.

Senior Research Fellow in Sustainability Policy

We are looking for someone with a passion for sustainability looking to use their skills in sustainability policy to make an impact on sustainability research. Your standing and approaches will further strengthen our strong international research profile and our reputation for novel research in sustainability.

Educated with a PhD degree or equivalent research experience in a relevant area you will develop and communicate a systemic policy approach to meeting the needs of a growing and urbanising population, faced with complex challenges of climate change. You will evaluate policy proposals, synthesise evidence and advise on issues such as the costs and benefits, risks and potential implications of different policy options. You will also assess the impact of policy decisions and communicate changes to the wider community.

Your role will be to carry out research, undertake consultations, and gather and analyse data in order to influence decision-makers in government, think tanks and businesses.

Research Fellow in Sustainability Assessment

We are looking for someone with a passion for sustainability looking to use their skills in Sustainability Assessment to make an impact on sustainability research. The successful applicant will join our interdisciplinary team.

You will have a PhD in Engineering or Science with demonstrable expertise in sustainability assessment, including Life Cycle Assessment, across a wide range of systems and processes. The role will lead a team of researchers providing support to the wide range of sustainability research in the GCSF that needs quantitative sustainability assessment.

Research Associate in Life Cycle Assessment

Educated to PhD degree level in Engineering or Science you will support the wide range of sustainability research that needs quantitative analysis, in particular LCA. The post holder will also develop materials, processes and technology needed to transform the material economy to realise the benefits of a circular economy.
