Research Associate

A chemical engineering scientist with expertise in life cycle assessment of plastic, polymer science (polymer synthesis, characterization and processing) and the development of environmentally friendly materials.

My role in Many Happy Return project is to identify when and where the reuse system outweighs single use system through quantifying the life cycle impacts of a range of products and reuse models and to compare the results critically against the other aspects involving the reuse system.

Before joining MHR, I worked on an extensive research project on Predicting the Polymer-specific Fate of Aquatic Plastic Litter project funded by Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) as a research fellow at University of Surrey. I developed a model to predict the polymer-specific fate of plastic litter in the environment across their life cycle from production to loss to the environment.
