Jana Green is our Centre Administrator. She moved to the UK in 2017 and is originally from Prague, Czech Republic.
Her background is in arts and film – she holds a Master’s Degree in Arts Management. In the past she worked for a cinema network, an ethnographic museum and a contemporary art gallery.
Jana is new to sustainability but very passionate about climate change issues. She is eager to learn as much as possible about sustainability through her work at the Grantham Centre. And she is keen to assist the amazingly talented Grantham Scholars in creating a better future for all of us (and saving the world)!
Her role at the Grantham Centre involves supporting the Grantham Scholars, organising internal events and administrative duties. She also helps Deborah Beck plan the students’ training.
You can email Jana at the above email address or phone her on 0114 222 0071 (ext 20071).
Jana led a Green Impact project SHEFF-Yield that encouraged people in Sheffield to grow their own food. Find out more about SHEFF-Yield on their website.
And Jana is in charge of another ambitious Green Impact project. This new project aims to develop a University-wide online platform where students and staff can sell and swap things they no longer need. It is hoped the platform will go live in spring/summer 2021
In 2022, Deborah Beck, Jana Green and Claire Moran were all nominated for ‘brilliant doctoral supervision’ in the Think Ahead scheme, which aims to recognise and celebrate people who support PhDs.
