The aim of SDG 15 is to sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, halt and reverse land degradation, and halt biodiversity loss
Grantham Scholars are working towards SDG 15 from above and below. Matthew Hethcoat is measuring tropical forest degradation and its consequences using satellite data, working under the supervision of award winning academic Professor Shaun Quegan. Whereas Nancy Muringai’s work focuses on the rhizosphere, a narrow region of soil that is directly influenced by root secretions and associated soil microorganisms.

Our Scholars work on projects which will help the world reach the targets set out by the SDGs. Supervised by academics from across academic disciplines, the Scholars also have the benefit of expertise from business and policy experts.
