SDG 2 Zero Hunger

The aim of SDG 2 is to end hunger, achieve food security, improve nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture

The Grantham Centre supports multiple research projects which work towards this goal, with a special focus on sustainable agriculture. Grantham Scholar Ligia Bertolino is looking for rice which can survive global warming. Cecilie Dyngeland is examining small-scale farmers in developing countries, who need to be supported if food security is to be improved in developing regions. And Niall Bradshaw is exploring the use of human waste as a sustainable fertiliser.

You can find out about these projects and more below.

Research Centres

We work closely with our partner sustainability teams at the TUoS. The researchers behind these groups are mentors to many of Grantham Scholars and are coming up with innovative new solutions to sustainability challenges.
