Liquid: The delightful and dangerous substances that flow through our lives

Free public lecture by Mark Miodownik MBE. 

Thursday 15th November at Firth Hall, 6 to 7.30 pm.

This talk is a journey into the realms of the strange, disruptive, sometimes corrosive, sometimes delightful, sometimes toxic, but always interesting, liquids.

Mark is a materials engineer and Professor of Materials and Society at UCL where he teaches and runs a research group. He is a also a broadcaster and writer on science and engineering issues, and believes passionately that to engineer is human. He gave the 2010 Royal Institution Christmas Lectures, and is a regular presenter of science and engineering BBC TV programmes.

This public lecture is part of the Grantham Centre Sustainability Lecture Series and is co-hosted by the MSc Science Communication Programme.
