In this exhibition, food researchers and members of The Art House in Sheffield respond to the challenge of producing food sustainably in a changing environment. Through video and ceramics, find out about the global food crisis, and meet some of the people searching for solutions.
Inspired by research from the Grantham Centre for Sustainable Futures, these artworks map humanity’s trajectory from hunter-gatherer societies to hi-tech economies. The works consider the effect that humans have had on the planet, and the huge challenges we now face.
This exhibition has been organised by Grantham Scholars, PhD students in the Grantham Centre for Sustainable Futures. It is part of Festival of the Mind, the University of Sheffield’s celebration of academic and creative collaborations.
The Art House is a Sheffield charity that helps improve health outcomes for people from marginalised groups, particularly homeless people and people with mental health issues, by developing their creativity.
